TAX BILLS:

The fall installment of your Property Taxes are due on November 10, 2008.  Payments may be paid in person or by mail at The Henry County Treasurers Office, 101 South Main Street, New Castle IN 47362.  If paying by mail the parcel number(s) need to put on the check, these numbers can be found on your last years tax bills.  If you should have any questions please contact the Treasurers Office at 765-529-4404, Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.  The Courthouse will be closed on November 4, 2008 for the election and also will be closed on November 11, 2008 to observe Veterans Day.

 

TAX PAYMENTS:

Payments may be made at Ameriana Savings Bank, Citizens State Bank, Star Financial Bank, Main Source Bank and First Merchants Bank, local branches or at the Henry County Treasurer's Office.  Make your checks or money order payable to "Henry County Treasurer".  CREDIT CARD CHECKS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.  When making payments and needing a receipt, send the entire bill along with a self addressed stamped envelope.  Payments by mail must be correctly addressed, have the correct postage and have a Postal Service postmark on or before the due date that is printed on the front of this statement.  Postmark does not mean the date printed by a postage meter.

Check must clear or the tax payment is void. A $20 NSF check fee will be added to the amount due for each NSF check recieved.

Credit card payments may be made only at www.henryco.nethome page or by calling 1-866-480-8552. There is a nominal fee for using this service.  Credit card payments will be accepted from the taypayers paying in person at the Treasurer's Office.

IF YOUR MORTGAGE COMPANY IS RESPONSIBLE FOR PAYMENT OF YOUR TAXES, AND YOU RECEIVE THE BILL, PLEASE FORWARD THE STATEMENT INTACT TO THEM IMMEDIATELY.

PENALTY:   A penalty will be added to the unpaid portion of the amount due for each installment.  The penalty will be in the amunt of 5% of the unpaid tax *IF* the installment is completely paid on or before thirty (30) days after the due date *AND* you are not liable for delinquent property taxes first due and payable in a previous year for the same parcel.  Otherwise, the penalty will be in the amount of 10% of the unpaid tax.
